The free/libre/open-source movement has the potential to transform community organizations by empowering them with world-class technology tools that can be used collaboratively to build impactful solutions to local challenges.

The Sandy Initiative

As soon as Sandy hit our hometown, the FLOsolutions team was on the ground helping grassroots relief efforts get free/libre/open technology solutions up and running. Now we’re supporting FLO solutions used by dozens of relief groups.

Toolsets for Nonprofits

We’re documenting how people can adopt easy-to-use FLO tools to overcome common challenges faced by civil society. We’ve developed recommendations for nonprofit and disaster relief organizations, with more on the way.

Sarapis develops FLO solutions that anyone can access, and distributes them through physical spaces.
